Mad, I literally watched a video of a woman going to Dallas to pick up her repoed car. When she got to the business, my god, there were cars, bikes, jet skis, boats, motor homes as far as the eye could see. The kicker was she had gone to the wrong business, she had to drive another 30 minutes to the other business where the view was the same, repossessions as far as the eye could see. The woman didn’t bat an eyelid, only interested in getting her car, me on the other hand was like OH….MY…..GOD wtf is happening to the U.S economy. I’m from the U.K. so this blew my mind.

It’s not a High Cost of Living crisis. It’s a Low Wage Growth crisis. US wage growth is lowest amongst other OECD counties. Money hoarded in obscene concentration of wealth at the very top does nothing. USA was Great when top tax rate was 90% and Unions won high wages. Pay people more!!

The price of new cars has gotten insane. I'm perfectly fine driving older cars. I'm not a mechanic but I've been working on cars for almost 30 years so I keep the cars we have running as long as possible. I saw the sticker of a 2024 Acadia is now $65k, lol. No thanks....my 2015 Acadia runs perfect. To make it feel more modern I installed a full Android 12.3" stereo in it for $400. Good enough for me.

The car market was designed to collapse, you can’t squeeze people’s assets and expect the car world to be fine. No one needs a car if your hungry and can’t pay the bills. Tags are to much money, materials to take care of your car is to expensive as well. Fix the problems and stop making it worse for the public.

I can see why people are so bullish at the top. Every bloody analyst have resigned to the fact that the market can only go up. Stocks can never go down. I'm starting to believe this baloney....

The elephant in the room,insurance companies in EU are currently working on refusing to cover older vehicles that are not connected to the grid so no matter how much you love your old beater(I know I love mine)there will be no way to plate them without insurance,the only way I currently see around this hurdle is become an illegal alien

There will be some VERY HARD SPENDING LESSONS learned before we get through this.

Melt-up followed by melt down. Sounds about right to me, certainly fits with the observable trends in the markets. The Las Vegas Review Journal, still prints the market listings in their paper. If you scan down the P/E column in the listings, it's amazing how many companies don't have one, in other words no earnings. The market is grossly overvalued already, but that doesn't mean it can't go much higher before the day of reckoning arrives for the markets as a whole. Buy gold. It won't matter how much you paid when the time comes, all that will matter will be that you got in.

Economy is great for some, few; but for most i think we are struggling. My biggest issue is the way they build cars now. You used to be able to easily fix the cars on the cheap side with a little knowledge or you got a friend who can do it cheap. Cars now can be abandoned because the damn electronic everything on them is not easy to fix. Second thing is the greedflation. The candy cartel. The meat monopoly. They are acting like covid distribution problems still exists. It's over inflated. I just dont buy those over inflated items now or i buy those things less.

Our gold reserves haven't been audited in years. Last time it was it was about 88 billion $ With a 35 trillion debt, that don't help .

Housing, specifically rents are killing the economy. Without a hard limit on rent prices tied to minimum wage, we’ll continue to see wage-price spiraling while the economy slows. People have no money to spend on cars when more than 50% of their income is going to housing that someone else owns.

They sell cars at the price of a quarter of a house now. Of course they are collapsing, if noone buys cars its their own fault.

In regards to the car market, I’ve noticed a shift in attitude among myself and my friends. Years ago we competed to see who had the newest car/truck. Now the high mileage on our now-older vehicles is almost a badge of honor. We routinely talk about how many miles we have on our vehicles (I have 250K) and what we had replaced during our last service appointment.

There seems to be a disconnect between the DJIA and the consumer on the street. Is Wall St. operating in a bubble? Are we already in a two-tiered economy of the “haves” and “have-nots?”

A house payment for a cheap car for 6-8 Years is a no brainer. Keep your 90s early 2000s vehicle forever, cheaper in long end with basic maintenance and light/heavy repairs.

Nestle ? They increase the prices? They are selling goods were 90% of the cost is given by packaging, transport and depositing ! So they increase the price and sales went down ? They should go back the price analise and determine the exact number. You cannot inflate a price over night... Won't sale at the same rate, starting with the next day. And killing habbits could prove more devasting than anything else.
